KSP Post 8 Take Back Initiative

(Morehead, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Morehead participated in the DEA "Take Back" Initiative on Saturday, September 26, 2010. The Kentucky State Police had collection points at the Carl D. Perkins Center in Morehead and the Owingsville Police Department in Owingsville. The DEA "Take Back" Initiative was designed to remove unwanted medication out of people's residences and off the streets. This was a joint effort with the Morehead Police Department, the Rowan County Sheriff's Department, the Owingsville Police Department, and the Bath County Sheriff's Department. 23.2 pounds of medication was collected at the Carl D. Perkins Center and one pound of medication was collected at the Owingsville Police Department. The Kentucky State Police want to thank all who participated in the "Take Back" Initiative.
