Marijuana and Weapons Seizure From Residence in Bath County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- Late Friday night, 9/24/10, following an investigation on a tip forwarded from the UNITE tip line Troopers from KSP Post 8 obtained and executed a search warrant at the property of Lester Martin on Rooster Run Road in Bath County. The results of the search yielded the arrest of the two occupants of the residence, Lester Martin and Melissa Gamble, and the seizure of 6 total pounds of marijuana (both unprocessed and processed), 20 guns (shotguns, rifles, and handguns), 50 prescription pills, and 18 rolled marijuana joints. A 2007 Kawasaki mule believed to have been used in the cultivation of marijuana was also seized.
During the course of the search Mr. Jessie Smith, age 67 of Flemingsburg KY, stopped by the residence at approximately 6:30am (9/25/10). Located on Mr. Smith was a large amount of prescription medication, approximately $2000 in cash, and business cards for multiple doctors in Florida. Mr. Smith was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree and possession of controlled substance 2nd degree. He was lodged at the Montgomery County Jail.
