Methamphetamine Lab Material Located in Lewis County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- At 2:40 pm, KSP Morehead was notified by Lewis County Sheriff Department that Deputy Gary Sparks had located a duffle bag containing multiple ingredients for use in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Multiple pseudoephedrine tablets, lye based drain opener, ammonium nitrate, plastic gloves, Coleman camping fuel, lithium batteries, propane tanks, and mason jars were found in the bag. The duffle bag was located on the side of the roadway along river road in northeast Lewis County. The Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Unit took possession of the items for disposal. No one was injured in transportation of the items. The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations.
