New Troopers assigned to Post 8-Morehead

(Morehead, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Morehead have added eight new Troopers to join the ranks of 31 other sworn officers at Post 8. These Troopers graduated from the Kentucky State Police Academy on September 17, 2010 along with 55 other new Troopers. The new Troopers are Daniel M. Armstrong, a graduate of Rowan County High School and Morehead State University; Charles A. Bowling, a graduate of Owsley County High School; Jason E. Brown, a graduate of Menifee County High School and Berea College; Brandon C. Eversole, a graduate of Owsley County High School and Morehead State University; Mary Lou Syvertsen, a graduate of Milford (OH) High School and Eastern Kentucky University; Anson B. Tribby, a graduate of Mason County High School and the University of Kentucky; Michael Wathen, a graduate of North Harrison (IN) High School and Purdue University; and Joseph M. Zalone, a graduate of Montgomery County High School.

Trooper Wathen will be assigned to Rowan County. Trooper Bowling and Trooper Eversole will be assigned to Morgan and Elliott Counties. Trooper Armstrong, Trooper Brown and Trooper Tribbey will be assigned to Bath, Menifee and Montgomery Counties. Trooper Zalone will be assigned to Morgan and Elliott Counties. Trooper Syvertsen will be assigned to Fleming, Mason and Lewis Counties.

These Troopers will be assigned to the World Equestrian Games in Lexington until the conclusion of the detail. They will then ride with a veteran Trooper for 8 weeks until mid December when five of the veteran Troopers are transferred to other post/sections; at that time Post 8 will welcome two transfers. This will bring the total number of sworn officers serving the eleven county post district to 36.
