One Injured in a Motorcycle Vehicle Collision on I-64

(Morehead, Ky.) -- KSP Morehead received a call from Bath County dispatch in reference to a single vehicle motorcycle accident at the 126 mile maker on Interstate 64. Byron McCarty, 41, of Paris Ky., was traveling westbound operating a 2007 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Mr McCarty attempted to pass a vehicle while traveling from the passing lane into the slow lane. Mr. McCarty lost control of the motorcycle while changing lanes and attempted to regain control, but was unsuccessful, and was thrown onto the roadway. Both vehicle and operator came to final rest in the median.

Mr. McCarty was flown to University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington Ky., with multiple abrasions and lacerations to his arms and back. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Aaron Brown, Kentucky State Police Morehead.
