Wolfe County Escapee Arrested

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On 7/22/2010 at 2028 hours K.S.P. Post 8 Morehead received information that escapee Ronald Lee Dunn had been observed off KY205 near the Wolfe and Morgan County line. Post 8 troopers responded to the area and began a search for Mr. Dunn. While post 8 units were in the area another tip came in that Mr. Dunn had been picked up by motorist and was at a residence off Bethel Chapel Road near Cannel City in Morgan County. Trooper Josh Lawson and Trooper Endre Samu responded to the area and located Mr. Dunn in a residence. Ronald Lee Dunn was taken into custody without incident by Trooper Samu and lodged in the Three Forks Regional jail in Lee County.

(Morehead, Ky.) -- KSP Post 8 Morehead Trooper Britt Rollins served a Morgan County Bench Warrant of arrest for failure to appear on original charge of Flagrant Non-Support on Robert Lee Dunn in Wolfe County. Mr. Dunn was turned over to the Wolfe County Jailer who set up a relay with the Morgan County Jailer off KY205 in Wolfe County. During the prisoner exchange Mr. Dunn escaped from the jailers custody and fled into a wooded area off Ky205 in Helechewa. Trooper Rollins was contacted by Wolfe County Dispatch later advising Mr. Dunn had escaped from custody during the prisoner exchange and that he had fled on foot. Post 8 Units responded and conducted a search of the area but was unable to locate Mr. Dunn. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Britt Rollins.
