Official Misconduct Investigation and Arrest in Powell County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- Detective Virgil Rucker was investigating a report of bribery at the Powell County Detention Center. Powell County Deputy Jailer Joey Casey solicited money from a female subject whose husband was incarcerated at the Powell County Detention Center. Money received by Mr. Casey was to help her husband receive a shorter sentence or for shock probation. Joey Casey of Stanton was arrested and charged with Official Misconduct 1st Degree. Incident remains under investigation by Detective Virgil Rucker.
