Attempted Robbery Investigation in Wolfe County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- At 2124 hours on 07/11/2010 K.S.P. Post 8 Morehead Troopers responded to an attempted armed robbery at the KY 205 Food Mart in the Helechawa Community of Wolfe County. After speaking with the two female clerks that were working at the time of the robbery they found that no money or items were taken from the store. The clerks advised that around 2114 hours a white male about 5'7" and of medium build with a blue hood concealing his face entered the store and pointed what appeared to be a firearm covered by a sock at them and demanded money from the register. The clerks advised the subject that they did not have any money in the register at which time the subject forced the clerks into a bathroom and fled the scene in an unknown direction. No one was injured during the attempted robbery. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Chris Sizemore.
