Drug Investigation & Arrest in Rowan County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On Friday July 2, 2010 at approximatley 1600hrs, Rowan County Sheriffs Department contact Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead in reference to drug information they received. KSP Helicopter spotted numerous marijuana plants near Kenneth D Hamm's residence at 305 Kodiak Road in Morehead, Kentucky. Troopers and Rowan County Sheriffs Deputies responded to the location and subsequently located 96 marijuana plants in two different plots next to Mr. Hamm's residence. Further search of the residence yielded a small amount of drug paraphernalia found as well. As a result of a joint investigation with the Kentucky State Police and the Rowan County Sheriffs Department Kenneth D Hamm of 305 Kodiak Road in Morehead, Kentucky was arrested and charged with Cultivation of Marijuana 5 plants or more 1st off and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st off. He is currently lodged at the Rowan County Detention Center. Incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Detective Toby Gardner.
