Two Killed and One Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on I-64

(Morehead, Ky.) -- Tessa Harris was traveling westbound on Interstate 64 at a high rate of speed, crossed the median, and struck James Samples' vehicle head on in the eastbound lane of travel. Ms. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene by Bath County Coroner Robby Powell. Mr. Samples and passenger (Debbie Samples) were airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington. Mrs. Samples was pronounced dead at the hospital by staff. No autopsied will be performed. Driver impairment appears to be a factor at this time and the accident remains under investigation by Trooper Hector Alcala.
