Armed Robbery of the Salt Lick Deposit Bank

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 2:08 pm, Post 8 Morehead received a call from Kentucky Alarm Services in reference to a hold up alarm at the Salt Lick Deposit Bank in Salt Lick, Kentucky. Prior to the arrival of Post 8 Units, dispatch received another call from Bath County Dispatch advising that the bank had been robbed. According to witnesses a white male 5'8" between 140-160 lbs, wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and white tennis shoes entered the bank wearing a Spiderman ski mask and brandished a knife to the teller and demanded money be placed in a bag. The teller followed his demands, and while putting the money into the bag, the teller also placed a red dye pack in the bag, which exploded after the subject exited the bank. The subject left the scene in what was thought to be a 4 door passenger car, dark gray in color. Possibly a 1990's model Buick Lesabre with damage to the passenger rear door. No one was injured during the robbery. Multiple KSP, CVE, and Bath County Sheriff Units were on scene. The incident remains under investigation by Detective Larry Bowling Kentucky Stat Police Morehead.
