Victim Of Estill County Crash Recovered

(Irvine, Ky.) -- The victim of last evenings crash on Doe Creek Road in Estill County has been recovered. She is identified as Della B. Conrad, age 52 of Irvine. Conrad was found in the Kentucky River, approximately sixty yards from where her vehicle was located. Conrad was found by Trooper John Felder, the Estill County Coroner and members of the Estill County Swift Water Rescue Team. Conrad will be taken to the State Medical Examiners' Office, where an autopsy will be conducted tomorrow morning. Investigators believe Conrad was traveling alone, and that were are no others victims of the crash. The cause of the crash has not been determined. The investigation by Trooper John Felder continues.

(Richmond, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police are investigating a vehicular crash on Doe Creek Road in Estill County. The crash has left at least one vehicle submerged in the Kentucky River. On Wednesday, Dec.15 at 5:06 p.m., Trooper John Felder responded to a possible crash on Doe Creek Road and upon his arrival found evidence at the scene that suggested a vehicle had driven into the Kentucky River. The Estill County Swift Water Rescue Team and Estill County Fire and Rescue also responded. At 9:00 p.m., a diver entered the water and located the vehicle, but found no evidence of any occupants. Rescue personnel remained at the scene overnight and have resumed search efforts after being delayed due to hazardous weather conditions. The Kentucky State Police cannot confirm the identity of the driver, or if there were any other occupants in the vehicle. The vehicle has since been pulled to the riverbank. The crash remains under investigation by Trooper John Felder.
