Suspect Arrested In Estill County Forest Fire That Burned 551 Acres

(Richmond, Ky.)-- Kentucky State Police has arrested a thirty year old Irvine man and charged him in connection with a forest fire that occurred on October 30 in Estill County. The suspect, Brad Lee Richardson of Winchester Road in Irvine, was arrested on 11/08/2010 at 1:42 p.m. by KSP Arson Investigator Pat Alford. Mr. Richardson has been charged with Willfully Setting Fire On Land Not Owned Or Controlled By Self. The suspect was identified after several witnesses came forward saying they had seen him in the area riding an ATV just before the fires broke out. According to State Forestry officials, the fire burned approximately 551 acres before it was brought under control. Mr. Richardson was lodged in the Estill County Jail. The fire remains under investigation by KSP Arson Investigator Pat Alford.
