Fatal collision on KY 52

(Richmond, Ky.)- Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred approximately five miles west of Richmond on KY 52. Kimberly Adkins Pendygraft, age 34 of Junction City, was traveling east on KY 52 when she lost control of her vehicle on the wet roadway. The vehicle left the road, where it struck several trees and overturned. Pendygraft sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the UK Medical Center. The rear passenger was ejected from the vehicle and received fatal injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison He is identified as Kenneth Adkins, age 33 of Richmond. The front passenger, David Brown, age 40 of Danville, sustained multiple injuries and was taken to the UK Medical Center. The wet roadway is believed to be a contributing factor in this crash. None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts. The vehicle involved is a 2002 Dodge Stratus. The time of collision was 4:56 p.m. The investigating officer is Trooper Toby Coyle.
