KSP Post 7 Arrests Berea Man In Stabbing

(Richmond, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Post 7 Richmond, is investigating a stabbing incident that has left one victim hospitalized, and another charged with assault. On August 30, 2010 at approximately 2:34 a.m., KSP Post 7 troopers were dispatched to Old Wallacetown Road in Berea to investigate a reported assault and stabbing. When troopers arrived at the scene, they found one victim with multiple stab wounds to the back and stomach. The victim, Robert W. Short, age 22 of Richmond, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Berea, and was later taken to UK Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition. According to the investigating officer, the victim and the perpetrator, were smoking marijuana together when they began fighting. Short was then stabbed multiple times with a pocket knife by the alleged perpetrator, Jordan Palmer, age 22 of Berea. Palmer was arrested and charged with Assault 2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center. The investigation by Trooper Toby Coyle continues.
