Jackson County Murder Investigation

(McKee, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police Post 7 Richmond, are investigating a fatal Jackson County shooting, which occurred on Sunday, June 13, 2010. Jackson County 911 received a call of a shooting at a residence on KY 2003. KSP Trooper Brent Lynch and a Jackson County Deputy Sheriff, responded to the scene and found a single female victim, dead from a gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as Gerilyn Walerski, age 52 of McKee. Ms. Walerski was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner. Ray Hacker Jr., age 50 of McKee was arrested at the scene, and has been charged with her murder. Mr. Hacker was lodged in the Jackson County Jail. According to several witnesses at the scene, Ms. Walerski and Mr. Hacker became involved in a heated argument just prior to the shooting. The two were living together at the time. The shooting remains under investigation by Detective Mark Young.
