One Killed in a Two Vehicle Collision on KY 52
Date of News Release: 06/04/2010
(Ravenna, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police Post 7 Richmond is investigating a two-vehicle fatal collision in Ravenna. The collision occurred at 8:40 a.m. in front of the Issacs Lumber Company on KY 52.
According to the investigating officer, a 1999 Ford pickup truck being operated by Daniel Rose, age 25 of Ravenna was traveling East on KY 52, when a Kawasaki skid loader being operated by Earnest
Issacs, age 48 of Ravenna, pulled out of a lumber storage yard onto KY 52, directly into the path of the Rose vehicle. Mr. Roses' vehicle struck the load of lumber and his vehicle left the traveled portion of the roadway. The Rose vehicle then sideswiped a storage building owned by Issacs Lumber Company. It appears a piece of lumber penetrated the windshield of the Rose vehicle and struck the driver. Mr. Rose was transported to Marcum-Wallace Hospital in Irvine, where he pronounced dead by Estill County Coroner Tony Murphy. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Brian Bowman. Next of kin have been notified.
