Lincoln County Fire Investigations

(Waynesburg, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police Post 7 is currently investigating two fires that occurred on Cemetery Road in the Lincoln County community of Waynesburg. On Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 12:55 a.m. the Waynesburg Fire Department responded to the report of a fire at an abandoned structure at 1250 Cemetery Road. The fire is suspicious in nature because there is no power at this location. On Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 3:19 a.m. the Waynesburg Fire Department also responded to a barn fire at 1225 Cemetery Road. The barn was a total loss, along with several items of stored equipment inside. This fire is also suspicious in nature. The KSP is encouraging the public to contact authorities with any information which may be helpful in indentifying any suspects in these cases. They may contact the KSP at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state), or the Arson Tip Line at 1-800-27-ARSON (1-800-272-7766) There is up to a $5000 reward for information which leads to an arrest and conviction in either case.
