Post 7 to Host Second Citizen's Police Academy

(Richmond, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police Post 7, Richmond, will be holding a Citizen's Police Academy beginning on Thursday, April 22nd at 6:00 p.m. The class will meet once a week for eleven weeks, and is open to the first 25 qualified applicants. The class will be held at the Madison County EMS Building at 556 South Keeneland Drive, Richmond.
Over the course of eleven weeks, participants will be introduced to a variety of topics, including the duties and responsibilities of a Kentucky State Trooper. Participants will learn about the structure of our agency, basics of criminal and collision investigations, and the dangers we encounter on patrol. They will also be introduced to the many divisions within the Kentucky State Police such as the KSP Special Response Team, Hazardous Devices, K-9 and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.

The deadline for applications is Monday, April 19, 2010. You must be at least 18 years of age to attend. The Kentucky State Police Post 7 serves the following counties: Boyle, Clark, Estill, Garrard, Jackson, Jessamine, Lee, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, and Owsley Counties.
