Armed Suicidal Subject on I-75 NB, 165 Mile Marker

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) -- On February 26, 2010 at approximately 2300 hours, Kentucky State Police, along with the Grant and Kenton County Sheriff's Departments responded to a armed suicidal subject on I-75 northbound at 165 mile marker. Carl E. Lewis, white male, 47, of Moorhead, was found by officers sitting in a 1986 Ford Pickup on the side of the roadway. Mr. Lewis kept officers at bay for several hours refusing to communicate with the Police Negotiator. Mr. Lewis was finally taken into custody when he opened the door to urinate whereby police units deployed a taser and took him in custody. Mr. Lewis was arrested on scene by the Grant County Sheriff's Department without further incident and transported to the Grant County Detention Center for processing.
