KSP Post 5 Trooper Honored at Awards Ceremony

(Lexington, Ky) The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety and the Kentucky State Police issued awards at a ceremony held December 1, 2010 to law enforcement officers across the state for their individual contributions to the Commonwealth's mission of aggressive traffic enforcement.

Trooper Justin Sams, of Frankfort, was honored by receiving the Governor's Award for Impaired Driving Enforcement. Trooper Sams' efforts to enhance traffic safety led to the arrests of 83 persons for Driving Under the Influence. Trooper Sams has received the award the past four years as he has lead Post 5 in DUI arrests. Trooper Sams is currently assigned to Gallatin and Owen counties. He is a 5 year veteran of the Kentucky State Police.
