Bedford man shoots dog near children

Date of News Release: 10/20/2010

(Bedford, Ky.) -- Troopers from Post 5 responded to a call on October 18, 2010 at 6:20 p.m. regarding a man shooting a neighborhood dog while children were nearby. Through investigation, it was determined that Troy Pollock, 23 years old from Bedford, opened fire on a dog near the 5800 block of U.S. 42 West. The investigation revealed that the dog was in close proximity to children playing nearby as Mr. Pollock was firing. The dog fled after being fired upon into a nearby garage located 5858 Highway 42 West. Mr. Pollock then reportedly pursued the dog into the garage where numerous children were playing and continued shooting the animal until its death.

Trooper Michael Luttrell arrested Pollack and charged him with Cruelty to Animals and Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree. Pollack was taken to the Carroll County Detention facility. Trooper Michael Luttrell is leading the ongoing investigation.
