Attempted Murder Investigation and Arrest in Milton, Ky
Date of News Release: 04/08/2010
(Milton, Ky.) -- State Police dispatchers received a 911 call at 9:03 p.m. of shots being fired into a residence occupied by three people last night (4-7-10) in Trimble County. Upon arrival at Greenbriar Road, Troopers discovered where a firearm had been shot into the home as they secured the safety of the residents. Troopers determined that Kenneth J. Boehnlein, a neighbor, had shot into the victim's home resulting from an all-day dispute. Boehnlein was located in his home on Greenbriar Road minutes later. However, Boehnlein would not come out of his home at the direction of Troopers as he locked his doors and turned all lighting off. Sergeant Howard Rice successfully negotiated for Boehnlein to come out of the residence. Boehnlein became combative and non-compliant after he exited his home. Subsequently, a taser was deployed to subdue Boehnlein while attempting to apprehend him.
Boehnlein was charged with the following crimes: Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 3 counts of Attempted Murder. Trooper Walter Szczepan is leading the investigation.
