Date of News Release: 09/14/2010

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- (Elizabethtown, KY) – On September 13, 2010, at 4:46 pm Eastern Time, while at the scene of a non-injury accident on northbound I-65, just north of Exit 81, Trooper Chris Berry reported having had witnessed a serious accident just south of his location. Trooper Berry reported that a 1990 Honda motorcycle, operated by Greely D Evans (66-year-old male from Indianapolis, IN), was traveling northbound on I-65, as it approached stopped traffic in a road construction zone. Evans was reportedly slow to recognize that traffic had stopped and struck the rear of a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer, operated by Maggie N Skees (35-year-old female from Upton, KY). Evans suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Methods. Evans later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Occupants of the Skees vehicle were not injured.
