Hardin County Injury Accident US 62

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On August 28, 2010 at 2:17 P.M. Kentucky State Police Elizabethtown Post received a report of a two vehicle injury accident in the 16000 block of Leitchfield Rd (US highway 62) in Hardin County. A 1993 Toyota Corolla, being operated by Colton Minnick, age 18 of Caneyville, KY, was traveling west when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the center-line into the path of a 2003 Chevy Suburban, being operated by Robert Gaddie age 74 of Louisville, KY. Both vehicles collided head-on with the 1993 Toyota coming to a final rest on the eastbound shoulder facing east. The 2003 Chevy Suburban left the roadway from the westbound shoulder and overturned several times down a steep embankment. Minnick was transported via Air Methods, Air Ambulance Service to University Hospital in Louisville with Serious injuries, a passenger in Minnick's vehicle, David Golden, age 48 of Leitchfield, KY was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Gaddie as well as a passenger in his vehicle, Mary Gaddie, age 75, of Louisville, KY where transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Troopers where assisted at the scene by White Mills Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department, Hardin County EMS, and Air Methods Air Ambulance Service. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by Trooper Justin Spears.
