Fatal Collision on Ky 567

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On June 9, 2010, at 8:29 pm EST, Troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post in Elizabethtown were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on KY 567 (Valley Creek Rd), 2 miles south of Elizabethtown. Upon arrival, Troopers discovered that a 2008 Toyota Yaris, operated by Brittany L Ringenary (21-year-old white female from Elizabethtown) was traveling south on KY 567, when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway for an unknown reason. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle struck a steel mailbox post, which forced the vehicle into a spin. The vehicle then traveled through a fence line, entered a residential yard, struck a large mound of dirt, and overturned. The vehicle operator was airlifted from the scene by Air Methods and was transported to University of Louisville Hospital were she was pronounced deceased. The investigation into this accident is ongoing by Trooper Justin Spears.
