One Injured and One Arrested in a DUI Collision

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On April 20, 2010 at 7:47 p.m. Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown received a call of a possible injury accident on Kentucky Highway 720, Saint Paul Road, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 62. Calls indicated that a vehicle was flipped over on its top on a railroad crossing. Responding units determined that unit 1, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix being operated by a Michael Clemons age 45 of Big Clifty Kentucky was eastbound on KY 720 rounded a curve and overturned on the crossing striking a signal post. Mr. Michael Clemons the operator of the vehicle was arrested for criminal mischief 1st degree, driving under the influence first offense, resisting arrest, possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, and disorderly conduct 2nd degree. An unrestrained passenger in the vehicle Timothy D. Clemons age 40, of Leitchfield, Kentucky was transported to Twin Lakes Hospital where he received treatment for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Timothy was cited to court by Deputy Jennings of the Grayson County Sheriffs Office for Alcohol Intoxication, and Disorderly Conduct. The accident is being investigated by Tpr. Brad Riley. Tpr. Riley was assisted at the scene by the Grayson County Sheriffs Office, Grayson County E.M.S. and East Grayson County Volunteer Fire Department.
