Pedestrian Killed on KY1600
Date of News Release: 01/16/2010
(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On January 15th, 2010, Colen D Casey III, age 19 of Rineyville, Ky. had been standing on the center yellow line of KY1600 speaking to a stopped motorist. He stepped back away from that car into path of a northbound vehicle. That driver was unable to avoid striking him. Mr. Casey was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges are pending on the driver. Driver of vehicle was not injured. Accident investigated by Trooper Terry Whittaker.
