Injury collision on KY 70

Date of News Release: 12/29/2010

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Steve Shaffer was stationary on KY 70 making a delivery. Mr. Shaffer and the owner of Tony Luttrell Horse and Feed were flagging traffic until the traffic cleared so the tractor and trailer could back into the driveway. Mr. Shaffer returned to his vehicle and noticed Lance Hogan approaching his vehicle. Mr. Hogan's vehicle struck Mr. Shaffer's tractor/trailer in the rear while Mr. Shaffer was stationary. Mr. Hogan's vehicle came to final rest underneath the trailer of Mr. Shaffer. The passenger of Mr. Hogan's vehicle had to be removed by mechanical means and was flown by air methods to the University of Louisville Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Hogan was transported by EMS to the Medical Center at Bowling Green for non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Steve Shaffer was not injured.
