April 2010 Activity Report

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- The Post Commander, Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of April, 2010.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,702 citations of which 587 were for speeding and 2 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 162 citations for no seatbelts. Thirty-three were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 285 courtesy notices, investigated 77 accidents, of which none were fatal, and assisted 229 motorists, while inspecting 2,086 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,001 complaints, and opened 81 criminal cases, and made 302 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 770 special details and programs in April.

In April, the nine Communications Officers at Post 3, received and placed a volume of 13,376 requests.
