Trafficking in Marijuana Investigation and Arrests

(Bowling Green, KY) -- On 04-18-2010, Kentucky State Police in Bowling Green received a complaint of a reckless driver on I-65 in Hart County. A traffic stop was conducted on the reckless driver by Trooper Jeremy Smith in which it was determined that the operator did not have authorization from the owner to operate the vehicle. After receiving consent to search the vehicle for drugs, approximately 1.04 lbs of suspected marijuana was located inside the vehicle. Darryl Cooper, age 24 of Louisville, Ky was charged with Careless Driving, Failure To Notify Address Change To Dept Of Transportation, Unauthorized Use Of A Motor Vehicle, Failure Of Non-Owner To Maintain Insurance 1st , Traffic In Marijuana 8 Oz<5lbs 1st, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Promoting Contraband 1st Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree. Also arrested was Jaramine Battle age 31 of Louisville, Ky was charged with Traffic In Marijuana 8 Oz<5lbs 1st, Tampering With Physical Evidence (Complicity), Promoting Contraband 1st Degree (Complicity), Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree. Both were lodged into the Hart County Jail on a $9,500 cash bond. The Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Munfordville Police Department and the Hart County Sheriffs Office.
