December 2009 Activity Report

(Bowling Green, KY) -- The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of December, 2009.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,275 citations of which 355 were for speeding and 6 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 117 citations for no seatbelts. Thirty-six people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 407 courtesy notices, investigated 95 accidents, of which 1 was fatal, and assisted 165 motorists, while inspecting 1,885 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 932 complaints, and opened 59 criminal cases, and made 252 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 782 special details and programs in December.

In December, the nine Communications Officers at Post 3, received and placed a volume of 13,319 requests.
