Christian & Todd Counties: Robberies

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police is requesting the public's assistance with locating the perpetrator(s) involved in three, separate robberies. The robberies occurred on August 23, 2010, September 1 and September 2, 2010. In each robbery, the perpetrator was described as a law enforcement officer or an individual impersonating a law enforcement officer.

The perpetrator would conduct a traffic stop on the victim's vehicle and retrieve the victim's wallet. The perpetrator would then return the wallet to the victim, but money was missing from it on each occasion.

The perpetrator was described as an African American male, possibly biracial, ranging in height from 5'8" to 6'0". In one incident, the perpetrator had several days' growth of facial hair. In two of the incidents, he was wearing a brownish-gray t-shirt, dark cargo-styled pants, and a dark colored baseball cap with the word "POLICE" in fine print on the front of the cap. The perpetrator was wearing a star-shaped badge with red lettering that was attached to his belt. In one of the incidents, he was wearing a button-up long sleeve shirt with a "Smokey the Bear" type hat. At the time of the incidents, the perpetrator was operating a gray, police car with markings on the driver and passenger side doors.
