Drug Arrests in Muhlenberg County

Date of News Release: 12/07/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- While on patrol in the Bremen area, Trooper McPherson, observed a vehicle parked behind a church. Trooper McPherson made contact with the driver and passenger of the vehicle. Upon further investigation, the driver, Matthew Shemwell, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Brandace Gibson, was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and prescription pills. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Muhlenberg County Detention Center where they were lodged.

Matthew S. Shemwell, age 33 of Bremen, Ky. was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, 1st offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Brandace N. Gibson, age 24 of Greenville, Ky. was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree, 1st offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, 1st offense (Drug Unspecified).
