Injury collision on KY 70 in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 11/23/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Tommy Fletcher, age 63 of Madisonville, KY, was operating a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country van westbound on KY 70. Mr. Fletcher lost control of his vehicle and exited the westbound shoulder of the roadway where the vehicle made contact with an earth embankment. He overcorrected and crossed both lanes of travel. The vehicle exited the eastbound shoulder of the roadway and struck an earth embankment causing his vehicle to overturn onto its top. It came to rest partially in the eastbound lane of travel facing north. Mr. Fletcher was transported by ambulance to Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was wearing a seat belt. Trooper Ben Sawyer investigated the crash that occurred on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 8:41 a.m. Trooper Ryan Fox, the Richland Fire Department, and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
