Felony Drug Arrests in Muhlenberg County

Date of News Release: 11/08/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Sunday, November 7, 2010, at approximately 12:54 p.m., Trooper Jon McGehee and Trooper Jerrod Hearld conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Ditney Hill Road in Drakesboro for failure to wear seatbelts. Both occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts. The driver, Barbara M. Wells, age 27 of Beech Creek, KY, had in her possession a bag that contained coffee filters, pills, and other bags containing a white, powder substance. She also had in her possession two syringes and a spoon. A set of scales was located in the passenger seat. A bag of cold pills was located between the passenger seat and the center console. Both Mrs. Wells and her passenger/husband, Timothy A. Wells, age 26 of Beech Creek, KY, were arrested without incident. Mrs. Wells was charged with:

  1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense-Meth
  2. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  3. Unlawful Distribution of Meth Precursor 1st Offense
  4. Failure to Wear Seatbelt
  5. Failure to Notify DOT of Address Change
  6. Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 1st Offense
  7. Prescription Controlled Substance Not In Original Container 1st Offense

Mr. Wells was charged with:

  1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense-Meth
  2. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  3. Unlawful Distribution of Meth Precursor 1st Offense
  4. Possession of License When Privileges Are Suspended

Both subjects were lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
