Crittenden County Death Investigation Update

Marion, KY. (Crittenden County) -- On Friday, October 22, 2010, KSP Detective Scott Smith presented evidence to a Crittenden County Special Grand Jury in reference to the fatal fire that occurred on August 1, 2010 at 2839 Wilson Farm Road. Glenda J. Tinsley, age 47 of Marion, KY, died as a result of the fire.

As a result of the grand jury hearing, Ms. Tinsley's husband, Wesley P. Tinsley, age 49 of Marion, KY, was indicted for Complicity to Arson 2nd Degree and Reckless Homicide. At approximately 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2010, Detective Scott Smith and Trooper First Class Darron Holliman served the indictment warrant on Mr. Tinsley. He was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

  1. Complicity to Arson 2nd Degree (Class B Felony)
  2. Reckless Homicide (Class D Felony)

He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- The victim of the fatal fire has been identified. The victim is Glenda J. Tinsley, age 47 of Marion, KY. An autopsy was performed today at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville. Ms. Tinsley died from smoke inhalation. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On August 1, 2010, Kentucky State Police responded to the scene of a structure fire on Wilson Farm Road. Upon arrival officers learned that a subject was trapped inside of the structure, that was fully engulfed. Once the fire was extinguished the victim was located and pronounced dead the Crittenden County Coroners Office. The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police and the Kentucky Fire Marshal's Office. An autopsy was conducted on August 2, 2010 at State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville. No further information is available at this time and the identity of the victim is pending results of the autopsy. When positive identification is made and updated press release will be sent.
