Two Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on US 431

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Dylan Lott, age 16 of Belton, KY, was operating a 2000 GMC Sonoma northbound on US 431. He was attempting to make a left turn. Alison Brothers, age 27 of Central City, KY, was operating a 1999 Honda Accord southbound on US 431. It appears that Mr. Lott failed to yield right of way and turned into Ms. Brothers' path of travel. The two vehicles collided. Mr. Lott's vehicle came to rest off the roadway on its passenger's side. Ms. Brothers' vehicle came to rest in the southbound lane. Mr. Lott was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. His passenger, Bryntt Camplin, age 15 of Belton, KY, was not wearing a seat belt and was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Ms. Brothers, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by a private vehicle to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Trooper Ben Cox investigated the crash that occurred on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 8:29 a.m. Trooper Craig Engler, the Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
