One Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on KY 189

Date of News Release: 09/22/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Shirley Adler, age 67 of Central City, KY, was operating a 2009 Chevrolet. Ms. Adler was attempting to make a left turn from Copper Creek Drive onto KY 189. Carrie Payne, age 21 of Central City, KY, was operating a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire southbound on KY 189. Ms. Adler did not see Ms. Payne's vehicle approaching and pulled into her path of travel. Ms. Adler's vehicle struck Ms. Payne's vehicle on the passenger side. Ms. Adler's vehicle came to rest on the roadway. Ms. Payne's vehicle came to rest off the roadway. Ms. Adler, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Ms. Payne, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not injured. Trooper Ben Cox investigated the crash that occurred on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 12:46 p.m. Trooper Craig Engler, the Greenville Fire Department, the Powderly Police Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
