Pursuit & Arrest in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Friday, September 17, 2010 at approximately 12:07 p.m., Trooper Camileo Threatt conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Mercedes northbound on the Edward T. Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway at approximately the 31 mile-marker. The Mercedes pulled over onto the shoulder of the northbound lanes. As Trooper Threat was preparing to exit his cruiser, the Mercedes fled from the scene. Trooper Threatt activated his emergency equipment and pursed the Mercedes northbound on the parkway. The Mercedes exited the parkway at Mortons Gap (exit 37) where it struck a road sign and became disabled. The driver fled on foot. Trooper Threatt instructed the driver to stop and the driver obeyed. He was then taken into custody without further incident. The driver, identified as Cameron S. Findley, age 27 of Evansville, IN., was charged with the following offenses:

  1. Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree (Vehicle)
  2. Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot)
  3. Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree 4 counts
  4. Operating on a Suspended Operator's License
  5. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  6. No Insurance
  7. Bench Warrant Served-Fugitive From Another State

Mr. Findley was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. There were no injuries reported. Trooper Darron Holliman, Trooper Bob Winters, Trooper Carlo Anderson, Detective Lonnie Kavanaugh, and Sergeant Greg Jones assisted at the scene.
