Felony Arrest in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Trooper Cottrell was on routine patrol when he stopped to check on a vehicle parked near the garage area near the old truck stop in Mortons Gap. Trooper Cottrell approached a male subject that was standing outside the vehicle. He appeared to be putting items in to the trunk of the vehicle.
Trooper Cottrell observed a small bag of suspected marijuana in the vehicle. Mr. Owen W. Gamblin then got into his vehicle and left the scene. Trooper Cottrell then pursued Gamblin for 10 miles until he wrecked on West Ky. Road. Mr. Gamblin fled on foot from the accident. Mr. Gamblin was located a short time later by Kentucky State Police Canine Unit Skip.
Mr. Gamblin was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center and charged with Fleeing & Evading Police 1st Degree Motor Vehicle, Fleeing & Evading Police 1st Degree on Foot, No Operators License, No Insurance, 2 Counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, 7 Counts of Disregarding Stop Sign, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense Methamphetamine, Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Offense, Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor 1st Offense, Failure to Wear Seatbelt, 3 Counts of Execution of Warrant for Other Agency. The investigation continues.
