Felony Drug Arrest in Christian County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Monday, July 12, 2010 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Trooper Jermaine Savage arrested the driver and passenger of a 1996 Buick on Interstate 24 approximately 2 miles west of Oak Grove. The driver, Jennifer M. Meyer, age 20 of Appleton, WI, was stopped for not wearing a seat belt. Upon speaking with the driver, Trooper Savage discovered the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Trooper Savage obtained consent to search the vehicle. The search revealed marijuana, several types of pills, and drug paraphernalia. Ms. Meyer and her passenger, Roberto Suarez, age 51 of Sanford, FL, were charged with the following offenses:
- Trafficking in Marijuana Over 5 Pounds
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense
- Prescription Drugs Not in Proper Container
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense
Both were lodged in the Christian County Detention Center. Trooper Camileo Threatt and Trooper Mark Combs, Post 2 K-9 Unit, assisted Trooper Savage at the scene.
