Marijuana Eradication in the Post 2 District

Trooper Nick Rice carrying marijuana from a plot(Madisonville, Ky.) -- For four days last week, troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville along with support from the KSP Aircraft Section conducted marijuana eradication in the Post 2 District. A total of 910 marijuana plants were located in the Post 2 District. The following is a county summary of where marijuana eradication occurred:

  • Christian County - 218 marijuana plants
  • Hopkins County - 617 marijuana plants
  • Muhlenberg County - 75 marijuana plants

The total, estimated value of the destroyed plants is $1,820,000. At the present time, no arrests have been made. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.

The Kentucky State Police will continue their marijuana eradication efforts throughout the summer.
