Felony Arrest in Webster County

Date of News Release: 06/01/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Trooper Cottrell was assisting with a train derailment, when Mr. Don L. Scott arrived on scene operating an ATV without a helmet on. Trooper Cottrell approached Mr. Scott and was talking to him, when he fled on the ATV. Mr. Scott drove his ATV into a wooded area off of US41 where he exited off the ATV. Trooper Cottrell apprehended Mr. Scott without incident, after a short foot pursuit. Mr. Scott was lodged in the Webster County Detention Center. Mr. Scott was charged with Fleeing and Evading 1st degree Motor Vehicle, Fleeing and Evading 1st degree On Foot, Operating ATV on Roadway, Operating ATV without Head Gear, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container, Driving Under the Influence 1st Offense, Indecent Exposure 1st Degree, 1st Offense, Failure to Appear Warrant served.
