Felony Drug Arrest in Christian County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Sunday, May 23, 2010 at approximately 9:59 a.m., units from the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville arrived at a residence on KY 109 (Dawson Springs Road) to investigate a possible meth lab. Units obtained consent to search from the owner. Units located multiple components used to manufacture methamphetamine including anhydrous ammonia, lithium strips, empty pseudoephedrine packs, coffee filters, Coleman fuel and items of drug paraphernalia. The suspect, Mark A. Hensley, age 49 of Hopkinsville, KY, was arrested a short time later without incident and charged with the following:
- Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Offense
- Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia w/ intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd or > Offense
- Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense-Meth
Mr. Hensley was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center. Additional Post 2 units responded to the scene and conducted the disposal of the meth lab. Lt. Jeremy Thompson, Trooper First Class John Komar, and Trooper Mark Franklin assisted at the scene.
