2 Arrested on Felony Drug Charges in Todd County

Date of News Release: 05/23/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Post 2 Units along with Detective Jimmy Berghammer of the Christian County Sheriffs Department went 950 Stringtown Rd., Elkton KY to follow on an investigation stemming from a drug arrest by Trooper Jeff Ayres and a burglary that was being investigated by Detective Berghammer.

When officers arrived at the residence they saw several items that matched the description of items that had been taken in the burglary that Detective Berghammer was investigating. Officers then obtained a search warrant for the residence and all other buildings on the property. While executing the search warrant, units located a large amount of cash, several firearms, components of methamphetamine lab, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Units also located the items that had been taken in the burglary that Detective Berghammer was investigating.

Naomi J. Brumfield age 59 of Elkton, Ky was arrested and charged with:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st
  2. Trafficking In Controlled Substance 1st Degree and 1st Offense
  3. Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor 1st
  4. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st
  5. Knowingly Possessing Anhydrous Ammonia out of Approved Container with Intent to Manufacture
  6. Theft By Unlawful Taking (Anhydrous Ammonia) with Intent to Manufacture
  7. Tampering with Anhydrous Ammonia with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine
  8. Possession of a Defaced Firearm

Naomi J. Brumfield was lodged into the Todd County Detention Center

Derrick W. Brumfield age 24 of Fairview, Ky was arrested and charged with:

  1. Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st
  2. Trafficking In Controlled Substance 1st Degree and 1st Offense
  3. Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor 1st
  4. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd
  5. Knowingly Possessing Anhydrous Ammonia out of Approved Container with Intent to Manufacture
  6. Theft By Unlawful Taking (Anhydrous Ammonia) with Intent to Manufacture
  7. Tampering with Anhydrous Ammonia with Intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine
  8. Possession of a Defaced Firearm

Derrick W. Brumfield was lodged into the Todd County Detention Center

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are pending.
