Todd County Drug Arrest

Date of News Release: 05/20/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Trooper Ayres initiated a traffic stop on Stringtown Road for a traffic violation. While investigating, Trooper Ayres observed Mr. Derrick W. Brumfield to be under the influence. Further investigation with Christian County K-9 Deputies discovered the presence of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine precursors, and a firearm. Mr. Brumfield was transported to and lodged in the Todd County Jail. Mr. Derrick W. Brumfield was charged with Disregarding Stop Sign, Improperly on left side of roadway, Trafficking controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), Possession controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), Possession controlled substance 2nd degree 2nd or greater offense (drug unspecified), Prescription controlled substance not in proper container 2nd or greater offense, Operating motor vehicle under influence alcohol / drugs / etc .08 (Agg Circum) 3rd offense, Drug Paraphernalia law, buy, possess 2nd or greater offense, Unlawful possession of methamphetamine precursor 1st offense, Possession of marijuana, Possession of open alcohol container in motor vehicle prohibited, Carrying concealed deadly weapon.
