Two Injured in a Single Motorcycle Collision

Date of News Release: 04/25/2010

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Mr. James Goley was traveling westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway on a 2007 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, attempting to exit the westbound exit ramp onto the southbound lanes of the Pennyrile Parkway. As Mr. Goley was negotiating the curve on the exit ramp, he lost control of the motorcycle. Mr. Goley then applied his brakes, causing the bike to veer towards the left guardrail of the exit ramp. The left side of the front fork of the motorcycle then made contact with the guardrail face, causing the motorcycle to overturn onto its right side. The bike then slid on its right side approximately sixty-six feet before coming to final rest in the middle of the roadway. Both Mr. Goley and his passenger, Melissa Goley, were ejected from the motorcycle. Both occupants were treated at the scene for injuries sustained as a result of the collision and were transported by Med-Center ambulance to the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
