One Injured in a Single Vehicle on the Western Kentucky Parkway

(Madisonville, Ky) -- Jacoby M. Piper, age 23 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Impala westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway near the 53 mile-marker when it appears that he fell asleep. The vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a rock-cut embankment. It overturned and came to rest upright in a ditch. Mr. Piper, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Trooper Brandon McPherson investigated the crash that occurred on April 6, 2010 at approximately 4:35 p.m. KSP Sergeant Matt Jordan, the Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
