One Killed and Three Injured in a Two-Vehicle Collision

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- KSP was en route to assist the Hopkins County Sheriff's Department with a Robbery in Progress complaint. While traveling westbound on US 62 Trooper Darron Holliman observed a subject, Mr. Adams, who met the description of a perpetrator in the robberies, operating this vehicle at a high rate of speed. As Trooper Holliman turned in an attempt to stop the vehicle Mr. Adams accelerated and continued eastbound on US 62 into Nortonville. Mr. Brown was operating a 2000 Kenworth on US 62 and was proceeding northbound from the stop sign at the intersection of US 62 and US 41. Mr. Adams failed to stop at the intersection of US 62 and US 41 and struck the driver's side of the tractor trailer with the front of his vehicle. A juvenile passenger in Mr. Adam's vehicle died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner. Mr. Adams, Mr. Windham, and the female juvenile passenger were flown to hospitals in Evansville, IN for treatment to their injuries. Mr. Brown was transported to Regional Medical Center for treatment to his injuries.
